Tatty Teddy' Story
|

In 1987 in a small Sussex village near Arundel a house was to be demolished. All the unwanted bits and pieces thrown onto a rubbish heap which included a little brown teddy bear. There it stayed for many weeks surrounded by cans, a pram, and old mattress, boxes and s host of varying rubbish.

It was winter and really cold. Lakes and rivers wew frozen over and people kept warm inside their homes. He was pinned down by the mattress and couldn't move. He started to feel very cold. Very cold indeed.

The teddy bear grew so cold that his brown fur started to turn grey and his little brown nose turned blue. He felt really sorry for himself. No-one loved him. He was alone ine the world and hadn't a single friend he could count on.

One day when the weather turned milder a little girl was playing near the heap of rubbish and spotted him. She pulled him out, dusted him down and immediately fell in love with him. He was just so appealing. His now grey fur and blue nose made him unique and would never ever return to brown.

Tht little girl look the teddy bear home and her Grandmother stitched patches onto him to stop the stuffing from coming out. The little bear was very much in need of repair for some of the fur had been wom away and all his stitches were showing. She named him "Tatty Teddy".

Many years latter Tatty Teddy continus to be a symbol of friendship and love. Across the world fans young and old, male and female are falling for his charm. Helping people to communicate is Tatty Teddy's main objective in life.
